Hello!
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a university business professor who is a wife, mother of three daughters, grandmother of two, and an internet marketer. The reason I tell you this is so that you know that I am qualified to advise you about the many aspects of mother and working whether it be working at home or juggling a career while managing a busy household.
When my daughters were young, I struggled with getting home to take them to dance classes, to pick them up from preschool or daycare, get them to girl scouts, get to softball games, run to the grocery store, etc. You know what I mean! I did this while trying to maintain a full work schedule. Sometimes I was a school administrator with a 8 to 6 schedule and sometimes as a professor with a varying schedule of classes morning, noon, or night.
Am I qualified enough yet to advise you? Yes, I will tell you that I had a husband to help me; but as many of you know, the kids schedule fell on my shoulders along with getting meals on the table and making sure that everyone had the outfit they wanted to wear. If my husband read this, he would take offense because he thought he was being very helpful. He went to work everyday and was my rock.
Now my kids are grown so you know we survived. Now I am starting over with my grandchildren. O.K., it is not the same. I still do have to go to baseball games and dance recitals.
When I decided I wanted to slow down my rat race, I looked into working at home. When I found internet marketing, I knew that it was what I wanted to do. I took a year off from my school administration position and took on internet marketing full time. I have been through the adjustment of learning to work at home.
Here is something important I forgot to tell you just so you don’t say “Yeah, she is working in a quiet house with no interruptions.” My daughter and her husband live with me with her two children. One of my granddaughter’s favorite places is my desk. She loves to rifle through my drawers when I am trying to work looking for treasures. My grandson hits the door home from school at 3:00 p.m. and the phone starts to ring and he wants me to help him with his homework.
Back to my experience with internet marketing and my advice to you. Internet marketing is not magic. Many people talk about working a few hours a day and making tons of money for it. That is not the way it is. It is like any other business that you start from scratch; you have to work hard to learn your industry and build your business foundation.
This website is all about telling you the truth about internet marketing and assisting you to make the decision as to whether it is the right work at home job for you. I will also give you information to get you started if you decide to proceed. Remember I am not going to sugar coat anything. It takes a lot of hard work and it is not for everyone. It is especially not for everyone who is a mom who has a family depending on them to bring in additional income right away. No magic wands or secret potions for sale! Just good sound information.
Best of wishes and many successes to all of you,
Dr. Patricia Thomasson
